CHARLESTON, SC – On Monday, October 3rd, Senator Tim Scott hosted donation drives and fundraisers in Beaufort, Aiken, and Greenville to gather much-needed supplies and monetary donations for those affected by Hurricane Ian. All told, Senator Scott’s campaign will deliver thousands of donated items, as well as a $50,000 donation, to victims of the storms.

The events were initially scheduled to serve as campaign stops on a ‘fly-around’ to meet with voters and local leaders and to rally support for the upcoming midterm elections. The fly-around was scheduled to end with a fundraiser in Greenville, SC. Due to the devastating storms along the coast, the events were repurposed to focus on disaster relief efforts.

In Beaufort and Aiken counties, over 500 attendees donated thousands of toiletries, non-perishable food items, first-aid supplies, and other necessities. Following the fundraiser in Greenville, Senator Scott also pledged to donate at least $50,000 to assist victims of Hurricane Ian.

“We’ve all gone through Hurricane Hugo, we remember that pain personally. Thank God that people came to our rescue. Now it’s time for us to do the same,” Senator Scott told WYFF News 4 in Greenville.
