Senator Scott Earns National Federation Of Independent Business’ Endorsement
Charleston, SC- U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), up for reelection in November, earned the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) political action committee, Save America’s Free Enterprise Trust (SAFE Trust). NFIB is the nation’s leading small business association making their support valuable for Scott, who is currently a member of the Senate Small Business Committee.
NFIB Political Director Sharon Sussin said, “Our members in your state appreciate very much your consistent support on their key issues. NFIB therefore regards your reelection as critical to the small businesses in your state, and we look forward to working with you in the future on regulatory reform, tax relief and other initiatives to improve the small business climate and create jobs.”
Being a former small business owner, Scott understands the impact that laws can have on one’s livelihood and has worked diligently to ensure that the nation’s small business owners and their employees have the opportunity to succeed. In 2014, Scott was recognized as a “Guardian of Small Business” by the NFIB and also joined Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) in introducing a resolution (S. RES. 548) designating November 29 as “Small Business Saturday.” The legislation supported efforts to encourage the community to shop locally and to increase the awareness of the value of locally owned businesses.
