Dear fellow prayer warriors for Tim Scott:

I am so grateful that God has placed Tim in Congress to represent us. I know he appreciates your steadfast prayers. Every time I speak with him, he expresses his gratitude for all our prayer warriors.

Please pray for the upcoming elections and that God will be honored in our country.

Tim’s schedule is particularly ambitious so please pray for strength, focus, travel mercy and good health.

As always, here are some continuing requests to pray for:

  • May the Lord watch over Tim – that he would be in God’s will and that the Lord would bless him and give him guidance and favor as he navigates the halls of Congress.
  • Please pray for sensitive discernment to the Holy Spirit that Tim would know when to move and when not to move and for heavenly wisdom.
  • Please pray that the Lord would send his angels to protect Tim, his family and staff members – that they are kept safe from harm and danger.
  • Please pray for Tim, his family and staff members as they travel to and from Washington, DC and wherever else their responsibilities require them to go.
  • Please pray for protection from sickness and disease and full health for Tim and all his staff.
  • Please pray for our nation and all our leaders and citizens -that we would heed the call of 2 Chronicles 7:14 and humble ourselves and pray and seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways.

Praise God in all things and thank Him for all He is doing.

U.S. Chamber Award

Rep. Tim Scott recently received a Spirit of Enterprise Award at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Awards Event in Washington, D.C.

The Chamber’s prestigious “Spirit of Enterprise” award is given annually to members of Congress based on rankings it gives for key business votes outlined in its yearly publication, How They Voted. This is the twenty-second year that the U.S. Chamber has formally honored the accomplishments of this select group of members of Congress.  The Chamber’s designated “key votes” are recorded floor votes on issues established as priorities by the Chamber, on which the Chamber informs Congress of its position on prior to the vote. Senators and House members who support the Chamber’s position on at least 70% of these key votes receive the “Spirit of Enterprise” award.  Read more.

Scott Files for Re-election to Serve South Carolina’s 1st District

Congressman Tim Scott filed the necessary paperwork to declare his candidacy for re-election as U.S. Representative for the First District of South Carolina.

“The people of South Carolina honored me with their votes – and their trust – in 2010, and I humbly ask for their continued support to serve as their Congressman in the newly drawn First Congressional District,” Scott said.  “The district boundaries may have shifted, but my commitment to conservative values and smaller, common-sense government has not.”

“In our first 15 months of Washington, the South Carolina freshmen delegation has played a key role in shaping the debate in Washington, by fighting for lower spending, less intrusive government, and conservative values.

In 2012, Republicans must elect a conservative President and Senate, so that many of the bills we have passed in the House – such as repeal of Obamacare, approval of the Keystone pipeline, and our JOBS Act – can become law.  I look forward to fulfilling these goals in the coming term.”

The First Congressional District of South Carolina will include portions of Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, Colleton and Beaufort counties.

Dear Fellow Prayer Warriors for Tim Scott:

Happy New Year! I had a great talk with Tim the other day and he is excited about the new year we face! We need to look expectantly for great things to happen in 2012, even with uncertainty swirling and ominous signs abounding because as heirs through Christ, we can rest in Psalm 91 and find refuge under our Abba Father’s wings and abide in His Almighty shadow.

We can rest assured that regardless of what is happening, we are a nation born on a foundation of the Gospel of our Savior, Jesus and He lives and reigns this very day and forevermore and His perfect peace is ours in the midst of the storm! Tim wanted you to know that in the knowledge of God’s assurance, this year should be about pursuing Isaiah 61 especially because of our times. There are so many who are lost and in need of answers and , Praise God, you have them!

With the leading of the Holy Spirit, we should seek heavenly strategies to take on the challenges of 2012. As a son or daughter of the living God, attack this new year with passion and taste and see that the Lord is good and He has great things for you this year! We have but one life to lead and we should live this year as unto our Lord.
